Options
Primary DNS and mail servers can be provided if required for customers not wishing to run these services for themselves.
We are happy to manage further domains for ADSL customers (see prices).
We can supply you with an ADSL modem/router (preconfigured for true plug and play), or you are free to connect any equipment which complies with the relevant standards.
It is strongly recommended that you use a firewall between your network and the ADSL connection - we can supply a FireBrick, or you are free to install your own firewall.
Quality
Our policy is to dimension our network such that we always have a significant margin of capacity over and above peak usage. This ensures that our service maintains excellent performance at all times, even during busy periods.
Notes
- Speeds quoted are IP speeds, not ATM speeds as quoted by many others. IP speeds are approximately 12% lower than ATM, so a 7.15Mb/s IP rate corresponds to a 8.128Mb ATM rate.
- All ADSL1 lines (BT 20CN) are provided using BT Wholesale's 'Max Premium' service.
- All ADSL2+ lines (BT 21CN) are provided using BT Wholesale's 'Elevated Traffic Weighting' service.
- All services are provided over standard BT analogue telephone lines - the cost of these lines is not included.
- If the line is used for analogue telephony, a splitter must be installed (one per analogue phone extension).
- Service is supplied subject to our standard terms & conditions.
